Chaim Sharir is one of the leading and most prolific producers in Israel. Prior to his decision to focus on the development and production of cinematic content, he worked in a variety of areas within the worlds of cinema and television, among these the local production of foreign films, directing, distribution, aerial shooting and more.

 

Sharir's self-owned production company "Yetsira Ivrit Ltd." deals with the production of Israeli feature films and numerous co-productions, among them "Restoration", "Ballad of the Weeping Spring", "By Summer's End", "Everlasting Joy", "Circus Palestina", "The Italians are Coming" and "Blind Man's Buff".

 

The films he has produced have won numerous prizes and awards in leading international film festivals, including Sundance, Karlovy Vary, Montpellier, Jerusalem and Haifa and prizes by the Israel Academy for Cinema.

 

Chaim Sharir served as the Producer in Chief and VP Content at Reshet (Channel 2) during the years 1997 – 2005 and was responsible for the broadcast of leading and breakthrough content.

 

Since 2005, Sharir has been producing leading television series among them "Hostages", "30 Shekel per Hour", "The Naked Truth", "Good Intentions", "Milluim" (Reserve Duty), "Melanoma My Love" and "Didn't Promise You". He has won awards and prizes in Israel and abroad for many of them, among them the "The Golden Nymph" of Monte Carlo IFF for the Best International TV Drama 2013, and an Academy Awards for Best Drama Series. A number of these series have been distributed and remade around the world.

 

Sharir was a nominee for best supporting actor for his part as an actor in the film "Fill the Void" (Rama Borstein, Assaf Amir).

 

Sharir served as the head of the Israel Film and Television Producers Association and served on its boards, was one of the heads of MMA (the Creators' Struggle Headquarters), and was among the founders of the Israeli Academy of Motion Pictures and Television and served as the Chairman of the Academy.

He has a Bachelors degree in philosophy and Humanities from Tel Aviv University, Business Administration Studies Certificate (MIL) and serves as a lecturer and the Sam Spiegel School of Cinema in Jerusalem.

 

Since 2017 the TV series were produced within the framework of Drama-Team Ltd.
